Between rounds of the Festival, a lot of people might mistakenly believe that there's a "lull" in the activity, but there's never a real lull back here. The lobby may be almost empty, but that just means that our attention is focused on operational issues instead of shepherding guests through to their theaters. The amount of brainpower surrounding me, at any given moment, is extremely impressive. The staff here makes things look effortless, but don't be fooled; these people are troupers. I'm in awe of all of them.
Now that we've let people in for the 2:00 round, it's time to get ready for our 4:00 round of films! And I'm having a lot of fun watching (and doing what I can to help) everybody prepare.
We're starting off with 4:15 showings of Independent Shorts Collection #8 and Kings. Then, at 4:30, we'll be screening Foster Child, which will have a Filmmaker Q&A with Brillante Mendoza after the showing, and One Man in the Band.
Our round wraps up with 4:45 screenings of The Metrosexual and The Substitute, which are immensely popular, so come early to make sure you can get tickets.
And now I'm off to help everybody get ready! See you there!
