I love my school. I started back at CSU at exactly the right time, right as the new film program was revving up into high gear! I'd originally intended to just be a Communication major, but that all changed when I took Dr. Lieberman's Intro to Film class, and there's been no looking back.
So I'm incredibly proud of the partnership between the CSU film program and the Festival, which will be hosting a series of wonderful panel discussions this coming weekend. Whether you're a film buff or an aspiring filmmaker (or a classmate of mine, who'd better already know about this!), these are don't-miss discussions, so if none of the films at that particular time are catching your fancy, head over to the CSU campus and listen in!
All of the panel discussions will be held in room 107 of the Music and Communication building, which is at the corner of Euclid and 21st street. Below is the schedule:
Saturday, March 15
Opening Shots: Becoming a Filmmaker -- 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
From Idea to Image: Screenwriting and Directing -- 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
Post-Production: The Final Transformation -- 3:00 to 4:30 PM
Sunday, March 16
Shooting For Change: The Socially-Conscious Filmmaker -- 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
Local Heroes: The Importance of Regional Filmmaking -- 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
If you'd like more information, you can contact Dr. Lieberman at 216.687.4637 or e.a.lieberman@csuohio.edu. There will be some extraordinary panelists in each session, and an amazing wealth of information, so definitely try to catch at least one of these! I'm going to see if I can run over for at least one of them, myself!
