International Booth Appreciation Day

Movies are so magical. The house lights go down and new lights come up, painting a world before your eyes and taking you on a journey. There's nothing quite like it, which is why, in the last century, it's become an international preoccupation, and a Festival like ours can do so well.

But the magic-makers aren't just the people who film these creations. There's also a large, and largely-invisible, group of people in every single theater who ensure that the magic keeps happening: the amazing guys up in the booth. They keep things moving, solve problems on the fly, and generally just leave all of us in awe. No one's creative vision could come to fruition without them.

We've declared today International Booth Appreciation Day, in honor of all of the amazing technicians who make our filmgoing experience not only magical, but possible. So today, when you go to your films, join us in celebrating their wonderful contributions. This Festival wouldn't be the same, and might not even be possible, with out them.
