Thursday, March 6: CIFF Day 1 Dollar Bank presents the 32nd Cleveland International Film Festival OPENING NIGHT GALA Tower City Cinemas 7pm CIFF members at the Movie Mogul, Executive Producer, and Director levels are invited to join us for the Opening Night Film, Then She Found Me, followed by a Gala Reception at MK Ferguson Plaza. For others who would like to join us, tickets are $100 (CIFF members) and $125 (non-members). Elinor Lipman, author of the book that inspired the film, is scheduled to be in attendance. Head on over to the Tower 230 Bar & Grille for the after party. Tower City Center Skylight Concourse 12pm Meet the Filmmakers Hard Rock Cafe Icons of Rock Room Tower City Center Skylight Concourse Level 3 2pm – 4pm Want to really get behind-the-scenes at the Film Festival this year? Join guest filmmakers for an informal reception where you can find out how they got that shot, found their funding, or worked with actors and crew. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and cash bar. Presented with support from ideastream. Interactive demonstration of jump ropers to promote Festival screenings of JUMP! Tower City Center Skylight Concourse 6pm Director's Spotlight Award Presentation to John Sayles Screening of Return of the Secaucus Seven Tower City Cinemas 7:15pm Post-film reception after Katyn screening Polishamerican Cultural Center 6501 Lansing Avenue (in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood) 9pm After the screening of Katyn, the Polishamerican Cultural Center will host a reception, with discussion and program. Katyn, directed by Andrzej Wajda, presents an important part of twentieth century Polish history that was hidden from the generations of Poles living under Communist rule. Please come to share your thoughts about the film and to learn more about this historic tragedy. Someone to Watch Award presentation to Brillante Mendoza Screening of Summer Heat Tower City Cinemas 6:45pm Wednesday, March 12:CIFF Day 7 Third Annual Evening at the Cedar Lee Theatre 5pm Pre-Film Reception at Nighttown (12383 Cedar Road, Cleveland Heights) 7:15pm Priceless film screening at the Cedar Lee Theatre (2163 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights) 9:15pm Dinner specials until 12 midnight at Nighttown (12383 Cedar Road, Cleveland Heights) Please join us for a special screening of Priceless. But don't join us at Tower City Cinemas that night. Instead, the evening will kick off with a pre-film reception from 5pm - 6:30pm at Nighttown, located at the top of Cedar Hill in the fashionable Cedar-Fairmount neighborhood in Cleveland Heights. (Parking is free.) All of the food at the reception will be provided by the evening's co-host, Zagara's Marketplace. Then you can hop into your car and drive a few minutes up Cedar Road to the Cedar Lee Theatre for the 7:15 screening of the film. Thursday, March 13: CIFF Day 8 Reception after One Bad Cat: The Reverend Albert Wagner Story screening SPACES 2220 Superior Viaduct (in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood) 8:45pm Join SPACES Gallery for a meet and greet reception after the screening of One Bad Cat: The Reverend Albert Wagner Story, a documentary about the life and art of Reverend Albert Wagner. Meet Tom Miller, director of the film, the film crew, and Reverend Wagner's family and friends featured in the movie. Ticket holders for Angels Among Us and Wild House Redemption are also welcome to join us at the Closing Night Reception. The event will include a brief program announcing the winners of the Greg Gund Memorial Standing Up Film Competition, Nesnadny + Schwartz Documentary Film Competition, Central and Eastern Film Competition, and the Roxanne T. Mueller Audience Choice Award. Entertainment will be provided by Tri-C Jazz Fest Cleveland. Tickets (for the reception and any of the three films) are on sale for $9 (members) and $11 (non-members). Day of show tickets are $10 (members) and $12 (non-members.)
