Be the Film Critic!

I've been talking this up the last few days, and I thought I'd mention it again: members can now leave ratings and reviews on the films you've watched, and share your opinions about them with others at the Festival!

Just go to the film index and click on the image to the left of the film you want to review. That will take you to its page, and you can log into your member account from there to leave a star review and some short comments. I've been giving out four rules for the last few days:

1. Keep it short -- just a few sentences, please.
2. No profanity.
3. No personal attacks, either against the filmmakers or against other commentators.
4. No spoilers!

I'm going to add to that just a little because there have been a few additional issues. Constructive criticism is fine, but personal attacks also encompasses tearing apart a film without saying anything constructive. Also, please do not review films you haven't seen! If a film hasn't played yet at the Festival but you already saw it elsewhere, please mention that, because otherwise it may get deleted as a non-legitimate review.

You may have noticed that star ratings disappeared last night -- there was a glitch in the system and, instead of the stars appearing once ten people had submitted their ratings, they were appearing right away. If you rated a film, saw the stars appear, and then saw them vanish, don't worry -- your rating has still been counted, and the stars will reappear once a few more members have rated the film as well.

I think that pretty much covers everything. I'm looking forward to seeing what people think of the films! I'm off to see one of them right now, myself!
