You know, if there had been an order form to fill out and request Festival weather, I don't think we could have asked for better than we've had these last several days. A lot of you probably remember just how wild and crazy things got in '08 when we had first the water main break in Public Square, followed almost immediately by a blizzard! Since then we've told everybody to "pray for rain!" And we did move the Festival to a later point in March, to try to sidestep the bad weather. This year it's definitely working!
We're going to be getting a little precipitation today and tomorrow -- and it's starting to appear on the radar as I write this -- but don't worry. Things might get a little slick or sloppy outside, but it won't be anything that gets in the way of you coming down to the Festival. The National Weather Service is saying that if we do get snow accumulation, it'll be less than an inch. Heh, after everything else we saw this winter, that's easy.
But if you don't like driving in that stuff, don't forget that RTA can do it for you! You can leave your car in a Park-N-Ride lot near your home and let them chauffeur you to us. Even if you decide that you can drive through the slush just fine yourself, think about doing that this weekend, because downtown is going to go a little crazy with the Indians opener.
I'm a complete weather geek (especially if Eric Fisher is on the screen) so if anything starts up weatherwise that you need to know about, I'll post it right away. But it's going to be really great Festival weather, with nothing in your way of coming down to join us.
That said, I have one little addendum for today: bundle up a bit if you're lining up in the walkway. It's colder than usual thanks to one of RTA's furnaces breaking down. If you're already here and feeling the chill, our merchandise counter has awesome sweatshirts, so stop by and check them out.
