Gearing Up For Knight Night!

Can you believe how far the Festival is traveling? Now our special off-site screenings are reaching as far away as Akron!

This year we're launching our first "Knight Night," showing The High Cost of Living at the Plaza Cinemas at Chapel Hill. If you know your way around Akron, you'll know where that is -- I actually don't, myself! The last time I drove down to Akron, I got hopelessly lost on the way (I blame my sister, though, since she was in the navigation seat and ignored the turn-off we needed).

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has partnered up with the CIFF and Cleveland Cinemas to offer the film, and bring the Festival to Akron for a night. As I write this, the pre-film reception is underway! The film itself will begin screening at 7:15, and it should be an amazing event.

It may seem like a quiet day on the blog, but that's because I've been running around a lot between the theaters and the media hub, and dealing with some glitches with our new film reviewing system. We're still working out the kinks, but if you'd like to post reviews of the films you've seen, you can now do so on our site! Just go to the page for the film -- clicking on the film's picture in the index will take you to it -- and log into your membership account to leave a star rating and a review. Remember, our rules for reviews are as follows:

1. Keep it short -- just a few sentences long, please!
2. No profanity.
3. No personal abuse, either aimed at the filmmakers or at other commenters.
4. No spoilers!

Please give us some time to get the reviews posted; it's currently a manual approval process and sometimes we're caught up in other things when the reviews come in.
