We're coming up on our craziest round yet! For the 7:00 round, everything is on Stand-By!
The round kicks off at 6:45 with Flannel Pajamas, a probing study of the complexity of modern relationships. It will be followed by a Filmmaker Q&A with Director Jeffrey Lipsky and Supporting Actress Rebecca Schull. This is, indeed, on Stand-By, so get in line for it early if you didn't already buy your tickets.
Then at 7:00, we'll begin The Hip Hop Project, a moving documentary about an amazing program that helps at-risk kids find new hope and a future in the music industry. This one is also on Stand-By, so get here early again. Project creator Chris "Kazi" Rolle will be in attendance, and I've heard that he intends to conclude the movie with a live performance!
At 7:15, we have East Side Story, also on Stand-By. It's a powerful study of the conflict between the traditional concept of machismo and acceptance of alternative lifestyles in Los Angeles. There will be a Filmmaker Q&A afterwards with Writer/Director Carlos Portugal, so make sure you stick around for that.
Also at 7:15, we have the World Premiere of Relative Obscurity, which is so hugely popular that we're showing it on two screens! This movie, by Ohio University alumnus Jeff Rosenberg, is much-anticipated by Ohioans and garnered huge cheers at the Columbus Preview Party. Jeff will be answering questions afterwards, along with actor Eric Martig. I just got word from Bill that this is on Stand-By too, so again, get here early.
The round will close out with the 7:30 screening of The Valet, a witty romantic farce from French director Francis Veber. This film is on Stand-By as well. So, while you're probably tired of seeing me write it, get here early to make sure you can get in!
Our 9:00 round is looking like it will be pretty hot, too! You guys are the best audience ever!
