The many languages of our 4pm round

This day is going wild! I don't think I've managed to stay in my seat for more than five minutes before something new starts happening. And now it's already time to talk about the 4pm round!

This round is on Stand-By. This whole round is on Stand-By. Just making sure you saw that, because if you haven't already read up on how Stand-By works, this really is the time to do so.

But you know what's going on, right? This list of the 4pm films is going to be a review for you, because this is the most film-savvy crowd in the nation!

We're starting off at 4:10 with our French Shorts Program, which will take you into a variety of physical and psychological landscapes across the pond. Or if you prefer to speak Italian, you can venture into the world of a high-powered family as its hierarchy is shaken up in several ways, with our 4:15 showing of I Am Love.

Prefer to hear a film in English, albeit with a gorgeous accent? Head Down Under at 4:20 with Storage, an Australian thriller about the kinds of terrible secrets that might be concealed within the units of a self-storage facility. Or if Chinese it your language of choice, take the Last Train Home at 4:25 (don't you dare actually leave the Festival, though!) with this brilliant film about China's migrant factory workers and the lengths they go to in order to ensure their children don't have to follow in their footsteps.

Maybe you'd prefer to speak the tongues of the animals? If their languages are the ones you'd love to learn, join us at 4:30 for Elephant in the Living Room, which will take you into the world of one dedicated conservationist who rescues Ohio's exotic pets when they become too much for their owners. After the screening, we'll be having a Film Forum. Its topic: "Should legislation exist to regulate the ownership of exotic animals?" Come hear what the people who deal with this issue on a regular basis have to say. We also have a great flyer about the issue from our Lights, Camera, Action Steps team.

You can take up speaking Slovenian with our 4:35 showing of A Call Girl, a taut drama about a young woman whose double-life threatens to crash in on her when one of her well-heeled clients dies at a very inconvenient time. Or explore the language of music at 4:40 with our final film in the round, Soundtrack For a Revolution. It will take you back into the world of protest music from the 1950s and 1960s, which energized the Human Rights movement.

Again, everything is on Stand-By, so make sure you know about how Stand-By works and that you keep in mind Tower City's parking problems as you're coming down here, because you want to make sure you have the very best place in line, and the very best seat in the house that you can get. Whichever film you've decided on, have a wonderful time in it, and I'll be back soon with news about the next round!
