Three years after the death of their oldest son, the members of the Lombard family are still going through a deep grieving process in their own separate ways. Jordan and Penelope, the father and mother, have drifted so far apart that their relationship is non-existent. An obese car salesman, he eats away his pain and ignores her pleas for affection, leaving her feeling unwanted. This leads her into the arms of another man. The younger son, Ben, tries to entice the ex-girlfriend of his dead brother while being pursued by his own friend, Matt. Their lives can best be described as BITTER & TWISTED. At a point where everything in their lives had stopped, the only thing that did not stand still was time. The decision to not let go of the past is destroying their future. When Jordan is rushed to the hospital for a medical emergency, it is a wakeup call for the entire family. First-time director and writer Christopher Weekes delivers an impressive performance as the younger brother, Ben.—L.W.
