Yorgos just got out of prison. For what, we do not know. An ex-convict, he wanders the streets of Athens amongst the homeless and immigrants; he is now an outsider in the place he once called home. In his meanderings, he spots a vivacious young schoolgirl named Savina. Always several paces behind, Yorgos follows the girl to the Albanian restaurant where her mother works. And this seemingly defenseless pair soon become the sole object of Yorgos’s fascination. His days and nights are spent watching (and nothing more) the mother and daughter. He even finds work at the Albanian restaurant to maintain his eerie agenda. Still, his past relationship with the two remains unclear. Is the mother his former lover? Is he the father of the young girl? Are they victims of his past crime? Inspired by famed Greek filmmaker Costa Gavras, Thanos Anastopoulos brings a realist aesthetic to this measured, gripping CORRECTION. (In Greek with English subtitles) – E.J.B.
