Two young sheepherders, Jose and Kumbia, hatch a plot to steal their bosses’ sheep and sell them at the Mexican-American border. Having been framed by the bosses’ son, Jeronimo, for shooting one of the sheep, the boys have reached their limit of injustice on the sheep farm and are prepared to risk everything for a better life. Embarking on this great adventure, the boys are ready to take charge of their own destiny and realize their dreams. But Jeronimo will stop at nothing to see that they fail in their mission. Still, everything seems to be working out for Jose and Kumbia until Maria arrives and complicates matters. Jose has long been infatuated with her, while her father believes that Jeronimo is a better choice. The tale of BLACK SHEEP is artfully rendered, tension building as the plot twists through the Mexican countryside. (In Spanish with subtitles) – B.K.
