The local food movement has taken root across the country. Just travel 50 miles west of Cleveland to get a taste of it at The Chef’s Garden. This small family farm in Huron, three miles from Lake Erie, is where the Jones family “farms the soil” and grows vegetables naturally. The farm is one of many featured in INGREDIENTS, a beautifully photographed film that documents the growing support nationwide for the local food movement. Restaurant owners in San Francisco have partnered with local farms to provide fresh produce daily. Farmers in Oregon are producing healthier livestock. And in New York City, farmers’ markets now occupy center stage on the streets during weekends. Narrated by Tony Award-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth, INGREDIENTS provides a recipe for how we can eat healthier and support a sustainable food system. – C.K.
