Hello! How Are You? (Buna! Ce Faci?)

A cheerful film with winning performances, HELLO! HOW ARE YOU? is the story of a long-married couple more in love with their fantasies than with each other. Gabriel is a former concert pianist who injured his finger in a mousetrap and is relegated to turning pages for mortals lesser than himself. Gabriela, who runs a dry cleaning establishment, gave up her psychology studies to raise their son Vladimir. Now a stud of 18, her ungrateful offspring can think of little else than his next sexual conquest. Frustrated with the tedium of lives not fully lived, Gabby and Gaby stumble through a series of circumstances into the murky world of internet chat rooms. As they each sneak around spending untold hours chatting, their friends and associates—not to mention Vladimir—become convinced they’re both having affairs. Liberated from the banality of the everyday, Gabby and Gaby finally discover their soul mates online. Can their virtual relationships revive their physical one? Rebooting it will take more than a simple Control-Alt-Delete. (In Romanian with subtitles) –B.B.
