Nineteen-year-old Javier’s gotta have it. A victim of various post-modern ailments like ennui and premature ejaculation, he roams the streets of Santiago looking to get laid. Javier tries first to sweet-talk his neighbor Valentina into sleeping with him. His ceaseless chatter convinces her he’s cute, in a pathetic puppy-dog sort of way, but their amorous interlude is foiled when he fails in bed as usual. He persuades her to exchange CDs to make sure he’ll see her again. But Valentina sleeps with Javier’s best friend Nicolas, a grungy and magnetic graffiti painter who already has a steady girlfriend. As Javier wanders around the city wallowing in self-pity, he meets up with other losers: a gay cruiser who Javier pays to go away; a couple of punks who steal Valentina’s CD; a guy in a bar whose girlfriend has left him to study in Spain; and an old hooker who’s the wisest presence on-screen. Young filmmaker Che Sandoval captures the aimlessness of the young South American generation in his funny first film, YOU THINK YOU’RE THE PRETTIEST...(BUT YOU'RE THE SLUTTIEST), reminiscent of the works of CIFF favorite Gerardo Naranjo. Director Bio Born in Santiago de Chile in 1985, Che Sandoval attended the Escuela de Cine de Chile. This was his thesis film. He is currently writing his second film, “You Think You’re the Most Talented.”

Wished it had lived up to the name - all the great elements in place - needed a more compelling story
