Things get even worse when the couple's oldest son Dalton falls in the attic, bumps his head, and plunges deep into an inexplicable coma. Meanwhile, the hauntings escalate and Renai begins seeing the ghost they believe is terrorizing their house. Eventually, the family decides to move, only to discover it wasn't their house that was haunted; it was their son. When Josh and Renai hire a psychiatrist and a group of paranormal scientists to help get their son back, they learn about Dalton's ability to astral project himself and realize that he is trapped in a paranormal hell known as "The Further," where he is tormented by the wicked spirit that captured him.
