Sometimes we are forced to give up that which we hold dearest. Sometimes we'll do anything to get it back. A delightful child fantasy film, KOOKY follows a determined stuffed teddy-bear on his journey back to his owner. When young Ondra regrettably develops a bad case of asthma, his mother decides to throw away his favorite toy – a musty old red teddy-bear stuffed with wood shavings. But when Ondra dreams that Kooky escapes the dump and finds himself in the middle of an enchanted forest full of magical creatures, Kooky begins his spectacular adventure back to Ondra's shelf where he belongs. Along the way he meets character after character, facing obstacles he must conquer in order to become the heroic bear he's destined to be. He finds an unlikely friend in Captain Hergot, the forest elder who is trying to protect this land and who eventually becomes Kooky's mentor and defender. But where there is good, there is evil, and the two must fight the wicked Auška, who wants to take over the forest, as well as the junkyard bullies who are trying to bring Kooky back to the dump. Set in a real-life misty forest, KOOKY features a group of entertaining, charismatic puppets in a miniature world full of car chases, flame-throwing, and tenacious dreams of getting back home.
