Carol Channing: Larger Than Life

Carol Channing is larger than life. An intoxicating portrait of the legendary Broadway star, this documentary celebrates all that is Carol—on and offstage, past and present. With her iconic raspy voice, giant red smile, and captivating saucer-like eyes, the 90-year-old performer has been entertaining massive audiences since her Broadway hits Gentleman Prefer Blondes and Hello, Dolly! brought her to national prominence in the 1960s. Through testimonies of such fellow stars as Lily Tomlin, Barbara Walters, Tommy Tune, Chita Rivera, and Debbie Reynolds, we learn about the magical life of Carol—from her discovery of her original idol Ethel Waters to her reconnection with her junior high school sweetheart Harry Kullijian after 70 years, whom she married in 2003. Fall in love with Carol for the first time or all over again in this adoring look at a girl who lived for show business—the vivacious, incomparable CAROL CHANNING: LARGER THAN LIFE. – M.M.
