Country: IRELAND, SWEDEN
Run Time: 83 minutes
Emma, a 13-year-old Dubliner, is asked by her Uncle Colm to take her Nan for a day out so the family can surprise her with a home makeover—to which Emma reluctantly agrees. When they return to find the house transformed, refurnished, and redecorated, all rejoice… until Nan announces that she had hidden her life savings in the mattress. To everyone’s dismay, the mattress was dumped during the clean-up, and nobody has any idea where it is. A search to recover the mattress leads to many possible destinations but with no success. Colm, now blamed for the whole debacle, makes a public appeal on the radio and offers a reward, not realizing that a dumped mattress full of money is fair game. Soon there are thousands of people in every landfill searching for the lost fortune. A delightful, feel-good recession comedy, LIFE’S A BREEZE reminds us that as long as we have our family, things can never get too bad. —Magnolia Pictures
