Salvo

Year: 2013
Country: ITALY
Run Time: 104 minutes

Mafia hitman Salvo goes about his brutal job without even flinching. Killing has become second-nature. When he breaks into a rival's home and murders him, he finds that the target's sister has witnessed the crime. After realizing she's blind, Salvo finds himself conflicted. Though he's required to execute her, he can't seem to finish the deed. For the first time, his conscience kicks in. At the same time, the girl finds herself faced with a new experience of her own. Her vision seems to improve every time he touches her face. A strange chemical reaction is occurring between them, but the unfortunate circumstances that brought it about make it confusing, to say the least. Unsure of what to do, Salvo decides to lock her up in a warehouse. He can't kill her, but he knows he can't let her go. As his bosses get wind of the situation, Salvo will be forced to make a difficult choice. Featuring breathtaking cinematography and exceptional performances from Saleh Bakri and Sara Serraiocco, SALVO is an intelligent action-thriller with a big heart. (In Italian with subtitles) —E.F.
