Health & Safety Protocols

HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Protocols are adjusted regularly based on the latest information from current conditions and consultations with healthcare professionals. Please be sure to check back for the most up-to-date information.
Updated 11.12.21

As we reunite for CIFF46 at Playhouse Square, our ongoing commitment to the health and safety of our patrons, filmmakers, partners, sponsors, staff, and volunteers remains a constant at each stage of planning.

As a resident company of Playhouse Square, we are following their protocols. Therefore, we are requiring masks to be worn in all areas of Playhouse Square and for all audience members to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Any audience member (ages 3 and up) who cannot be vaccinated is required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result before entering the theater. Children ages 2 and under are not permitted at Playhouse Square.

We join with performing arts venues in the Northeast Ohio region and around the country to implement a safer return to indoor events and performances. We are available to answer any questions you may have at 216.623.3456 x20, or by email at cfs@clevelandfilm.org.

We look forward to celebrating film and art with you March 30 – April 9, 2022 at Playhouse Square!

VACCINATION REQUIRED

All attendees, staff, and volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

    • "Fully vaccinated” means that 14 days have passed since either the second shot of a CDC or WHO-approved two-shot vaccine or since the administration of a CDC or WHO-approved one-shot vaccine.
    • Attendees, staff, and volunteers (ages 3 and up) who cannot be vaccinated will be required to provide proof of a negative test result received from a completed lab-certified antigen COVID-19 test within 24 hours prior to entering the theater or a negative test result received from a completed PCR COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering the theater. The BinaxNOW COVID-19 Home Test (the version requiring a virtual appointment) is an acceptable option. More information about COVID-19 testing is available on local or state Department of Health websites.
    • Attendees, staff, and volunteers must show proof of vaccination or negative test at their time of entry into the theater with a valid ticket.
    • Attendees, staff, and volunteers may present proof of vaccination or negative test on paper or a smartphone.
    • In addition to proof of vaccination or negative test result, all attendees, staff, and volunteers 18 years or older must also present ID, such as a driver's license or passport. Attendees and staff under 18 may also use a school photo ID. Attendees ages 3-11 do not need ID, but must be accompanied by an adult who meets all of the above requirements.

STAY HOME IF ILL

    • Attendees, staff, and volunteers who have been exposed to COVID-19 and/or are experiencing symptoms are asked to remain at home and contact Playhouse Square to discuss flexible options for their tickets.

MASKS REQUIRED

    • Masks are required in all areas of Playhouse Square. Everyone in the theater must wear acceptable face coverings at all times, including during the show, except while eating and drinking in designated locations. All face coverings must cover the nose and mouth and comply with CDC guidelines for acceptable face coverings.

BRINGING CHILDREN TO A SHOW

    • Playhouse Square’s mask, vaccination and negative testing requirements apply to ALL audience members, regardless of age.
    • Children age two and under are not permitted in Playhouse Square venues at any time.

CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS

    • All concessions transactions inside the theaters will be cashless. All food and beverage purchases must be made with a valid debit or credit card, or with mobile wallet options such as Apple Pay or Google Pay. While cashless payment is preferred, cash will be accepted at Box Office, Merchandise Store, and Challenge Match.

AIR QUALITY

    • Playhouse Square has the latest HVAC technology, including air handlers equipped with MERV 13 rated filters, which are known to trap COVID-19 particles. As an additional measure, GPS brand bi-polar ionization, which is known to reduce risk from COVID-19, has been installed in our HVAC system. The theaters will be prepared by running portable HEPA filter units for three hours prior to each performance.

SEATING

    • Seating will not be spaced for social distancing, however seats are not assigned and most venues will not be filled to capacity.

TICKETS & PASSES

    • CIFF barcoded tickets will be delivered digitally for a touch-free experience. Tickets can be printed or carried on a mobile phone. CIFF barcoded passes will be enclosed in a plastic casing that can be easy sanitized by the wearer. As a reminder, all guests must have a ticket or pass and will be scanned upon entry to a venue.

ENHANCED CLEANING

    • We are following enhanced cleaning and strict disinfection protocols.

CLEAN HANDS

    • We have hand sanitizer available in the theaters and encourage guests to wash their hands frequently.
