How do I vote for CIFF45 Streams films and shorts programs?

CIFF patrons can cast their votes for CIFF45 Streams feature and short films on the CIFF Streams platform, accessible via a web browser on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. When streaming via the CIFF Streams app for Roku and Apple TV devices, CIFF patrons will only be able to vote for feature films. There is no functionality on the CIFF Streams app to vote for individual short films within a shorts program.

Votes can be cast using the 1 to 5 star-rating system on the CIFF Streams platform. The more stars you give a film, the higher the rating. There are five greyed-out stars on every feature film's page on the CIFF Streams platform and the CIFF Streams app. There are five greyed-out stars next to every short film's title on shorts program pages on the CIFF Streams platform, however not on the CIFF Streams app.

To cast your vote, click on the star(s) to select and highlight them from a dull grey to a bright yellow (with your finger on touch screens if voting on smartphones or tablets, with your cursor if voting on a computer, or with your remote if voting on your TV via the CIFF Streams app). When you move your finger/cursor/remote away from the stars they will be bright white with the rating you have selected and your vote will have been cast.

Once you cast your vote, you can go back and change it if you still have access to that film or shorts program. You will have until 7:00 PM ET on April 17, 2021 to cast your votes before we announce the winners of our various audience choice awards and competitions.

ANNOUNCEMENT: We have recently been notified that the closed captioning feature is not working on the Roku and Apple TV apps. Any film that has English subtitles (foreign language films) will still be able to be viewed with subtitles on the apps. However, any film marked as having closed captioning on the CIFF site will have to be viewed on a browser-based device (computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone) in order for the closed captioning to work. We apologize for any inconvenience and will keep everyone updated. Thank you!
