A special selection including THE FLASHETTES, an exhilarating exposition of how young women can actively develop themselves through sports; THE WHITE HERON, a Canadian film about a girl named Sylvy drawn from a story by Sarah Orne Jewett; also from Canada, the 1978 Academy Award winner I'LL FIND A WAY, about a young girl, Nadia, and the extraordinary way she copes with a crippling affliction; and from Mexico, ANGEL & BIG JOE, the story of a 15-year-old boy who must choose between accepting a job that would offer him a better life or not accepting in order to stay with his poor family who are migrant workers.
