Run Time: 104 minutes
This beautifully photographed comedy is set in northern Italy around the turn of the century. Marcello Mastroianni plays a wine merchant, Luigi De Angelis, who secretly is also a revolutionary. Luigi is forced by political circumstances to hide out in the attic of the house next door. Believing that he is dead, his young wife, Antonia (Laura Antonelli), takes over his wine business and finds out not only what kind of man her husband was, but also where her own future lies. Her personal liberation is both political and sexual.
