DARK LULLABIES

The daughter of survivors of the Holocaust, Irene Lilienheim Angelico interviewed others of her generation, seeking to understand their shared history. DARK LULLABIES is profoundly moving, a documentary that is unique in its exploration of a double perspective - the thoughts and feelings of the children of survivors are examined along with those of their German contemporaries whose parents were the oppressors. As the subjects speak frankly of their own experience, a wide range of reactions are revealed in the emotionally charged atmosphere. Despite the painful and disturbing testimony a sense of hope for the future emerges from the positive ways many subjects came to terms with the repercussions of the past.
