VIOLETS ARE BLUE (w/ guests Jack Fisk, Director, and Sissy Spacek and Kevin Kline, Actors)

Director Jack Fisk's work in films began in 1970. His artistic skills as a designer were evident in such notable films as "Badlands," "Carrie," "Phantom of the Paradise," "Days of Heaven" and "Heart Beat." He won critical acclaim in 1981 for his directorial debut with "Raggedy Man," starring his wife, Sissy Spacek. Consistently receiving rave reviews for her outstanding performances, Sissy Spacek won an Oscar for Best Actress in "Coal Miner's Daughter." Her other memorable films include "Carrie," "Badlands," "Three Women," "Missing" and "The River." Lauded for both his stage and screen roles, VIOLETS ARE BLUE co-star Kevin Kline starred in "The Pirates of Penzance," "Sophie's Choice," "The Big Chill" and "Silverado," maintaining a healthy balance between his film work and a distinguished career in the theater.

VIOLETS ARE BLUE is a tender love story about a successful photo-journalist's (Sissy Spacek) return to her oceanside home town after a 15-year absence. Her high school sweetheart (Kevin Kline) is now the local newspaper editor. The first meeting after their long separation reignites the deep romantic feelings they shared before Sissy left town to pursue her career. The only problem is that Kevin has a wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and teenage son (Jim Standiford). During her return Sissy leans as much about herself as she does the people she loves.
