When her grandmother must enter a nursing home, Fanny, a ten-year-old orphan, is taken to live with her distant cousin Jonathan. Fanny is a bright and energetic girl, with an insight into life which is well beyond her years. Jonathan grew up in an orphanage many years ago, and as a result, has never allowed himself to get too close to others, lest he be hurt. It is not long before Fanny, with her pet skunk Broccoli and her indefatigable spirit, awaken in Jonathan the caring nature he has been so afraid to share. BACH AND BROCCOLI is the winner of the 1988 Parents'Choice Gold Award and the Grand Prize at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, along with 12 other major international prizes.
