Fifty years ago, when THE WIZARD OF OZ was first released, it was met with mixed reviews. It is said that some women fainted at the world premiere when the Land of Oz appeared on the screen - in color - but it wasn't until the film was purchased for television presentation that it became the favorite it is today. For over 25 years, children have laughed through Munchkinland and shivered at the sight of the Wicked Witch of the West. Here, though, is a chance for young and old alike to enjoy an American classic in all its true glory. Dorothy, with her misfit friends, treks through wonderful and mysterious lands, all in beautiful Technicolor on the biz screen, and finds her heart's content right in her own backyard. After 50 years, she still makes the trip.
