This delicious comic farce utilizes one stationary camera and two delightfully droll characters to explore a sexual cat?and?mouse game with as many sly surprises for the viewer as for its two protagonists. Virginia is a film student with a mission on this evening of prearranged romance, She has invited Marcelo, a former lover, to her apartment with the promise of love and titillation. Unbeknownst to Marcelo, she sets up a hidden video camera to record the events of the evening, and then acts as if all is normal. Marcelo, unaware of the unseen "observer," proceeds to lavish Virginia with tenderness and seductive attention. The stage is thus set for a teasing, erotic joust which is not at all what it first appears to promise. -Vancouver International Film Festival.
