An intriguing psychological thriller filled with dark humor, PROOF is a striking debut about a love triangle gone awry. Martin, a young man blind since birth, is haunted by fears that his mother lied to him as a child to punish him for being blind. Now he takes photographs as
?proof? of the world he can't see, and relies on his new friend Andy to describe them for him. Andy has promised never to lie to Martin. But Martin's possessive and jealous housekeeper, Celia, whose interest in her employer has always been spurned, soon realizes that by seducing Andy, she can repay Martin's humiliation in spades. PROOF is a complex and intelligent film about trust and betrayal, which presents blindness as a state symbolic of dependence on other people.
