The husband-and-wife screen team of Arliss Howard and Cleveland's own Debra Winger bring you a belated, achy-breaky valentine in the form of a much-anticipated feature drama. BIG BAD LOVE amalgamates a famous collection of short stories by celebrated Mississippi author Larry Brown. Howard directs, co-produces and stars as Leon Barlow, a would-be writer in the northern Mississippi hill country, trying to make fiction from his past, his dreams and the dim, unwanted sound of the future bearing down on him. Barlow attempts to exorcise his demons through fiction, struggling to balance his drive to create with the responsibility for satisfying the needs of those around him. In and out of his life drift Barlow's beguiling ex-wife (Winger), whom he can't forget; a lovesick war buddy (Paul LeMat) puzzling over his own consuming infatuation with a funeral-home heiress (Rosanna Arquette), and a mother (Angie Dickinson) who sees in her son the reflection and demise of her beloved husband, all over again. Fine actors inhabiting vivid characters burdened with hurtful baggage of loss and yearning will made BIG BAD LOVE your favorite case of heartburn.
