LIFETIME GUARANTEE: PHRANC'S ADVENTURES IN PLASTIC

Year: 2001
Country: USA
Run Time: 58 minutes

Androgynous punk-rocker-turned-folk-singer Phranc defines herself as "the all-American Jewish lesbian surfin' Tupperware lady." It's no mere gimmick; after 20 years of international touring, when she decided to settle down to a family-oriented lifestyle with her partner and adopted daughter on the West Coast, Phranc found herself fascinated by the prospect of selling for Tupperware, the legendary Orlando-based manufacturer of kitchen aids and storage containers, whose very name evokes giggles of recognition thoughout suburbia. But it's all very serious (if campy) business to Phranc, who aspires to move a quarter of a million dollar's worth of the stuff, putting her own special spin of personal empowerment on the marketing campaign. Wielding guitar in hand and camera crew in tow, Phranc hosts musical Tupperware parties, journey's to a Tupperware leadership conference outside Las Vegas, addresses the raging spaghetti sauce controversy, and seals Lisa Udelson's engaging documentary with flavor and freshness. Special appearance by Donny and Marie Osmond.
