SING

Year: 2001
Country: USA
Run Time: 36 minutes

One of a dynamic duo of documentaries detail the transformative powers of the fine arts. Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary Short Subject, SING! presents a group of California school agers for whom Placido Domingo is more of a poster pin-up than Britney Spears; they are the Los Angeles Children's Chorus, a community-based, multi-ethnic choral ensemble who prove that, yes, even opera can be "cool," even as grownups like artistic director Anne Tomlinson strive to maintain the group despite state-wide funding cuts.
