Bianca lives in a world full of heavy competition and constant rejection. A struggling actress, she learns that a mastery of her craft may not be enough and is forced to accept such humiliating, trivial jobs—impersonating iconic celebrities for advertisements and birthday celebrations. Vivacious and endearing, she refuses to give up on her dream, grasping to the hope for her big break, and enjoying every bit of life along the way. Finally, opportunity comes knocking when she auditions for a film so perfectly, the director not only hires her, but decides to mold the lead character into a version of Bianca herself. Inspired by her personality and life stories, he absorbs Bianca into the script, finally offering her the chance of a lifetime. But as Bianca soon finds out, a promise is not a contract and the world of a struggling actress threatens to remain a cruel one. The brilliance of CRAFT was co-written by the mesmerizing Karine Teles, who inhabits the role of Bianca with sheer and harrowing integrity. (In Portuguese and French with subtitles) – M.M.
