When Larry Smith was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, he cried on the way home to tell his family. Twenty years later, this retired police captain and successful bakery owner is done crying. Once a bike enthusiast, Larry found balance increasingly difficult. He now rides a reclining cycle, a familiar and beloved sight in his small South Dakota home town. One day Larry decides to do one big thing to empower others like him and raise awareness: he will ride his bike across the state of South Dakota. RIDE WITH LARRY is his heroic journey with family and supporters, raising money and inspiring countless patients and their families. The ride becomes an event, and the road has many perils. But this is not just a diary of that amazing trip. It is also an inspiring look at the man who embraces each day while facing such challenges and the love he spreads along the way. This is indeed the ride of Larry's life, and you will be glad you joined him for it. —C.R.
