Naama, a beautiful high school student living outside of Tel Aviv, has a difficult family life. Her father is overbearing with a hair-trigger temper and her mother seems to be obsessing about her older sister, a soldier currently missing. The randomness of her sister’s disappearance clearly weighs on the family. Naama’s life seems lost to her until a new girl at school changes everything. Hershko has everything Naama doesn’t—a slick haircut that makes her undeniably hip, an attitude of unerring coolness, and, most of all, she’s not afraid of anyone or anything. It doesn’t take long for Naama to fall madly in love with Hershko. But as their relationship deepens, Naama’s long-brewing family tension boils over the top. A heartfelt coming-of-age story, BLUSH is a wonderful love letter to an ephemeral stage of life as well as a snapshot of a family struggling to stay together amidst a rapidly changing environment.
