“Who's your Daddy?” quips Colin, a studly middle-aged gay man who is diving into both a new TV talk show and a stream of hot, young lovers. Stewart, his lifelong best friend, is a plain, socially awkward loner trying to reboot his career. They've been through everything together, but their friendship is about to be jolted. That jolt arrives in the form of a gorgeous young intern at Colin's station named Tee. Tee is enamored by the Colin’s celebrity, and Colin is seduced by the younger man's beauty. Stewart senses danger from the start, but his efforts to warn Colin fail. Colin is smitten and cannot see that something is not right, attributing Tee's behavior to a religiously oppressive childhood. But something else is ticking below the surface, waiting to explode. Nobody is ready for the bomb when it drops. As the pieces are picked up and counted, the funny, erotic, and heart-tugging DADDY explores what a hot, beautiful mess friendship and loyalty are and how to age gracefully while kicking and screaming. –C.R.
