All Mike wants is to take the cute girl next door on a date. A simple enough objective that goes awry surprisingly quickly. After finally getting the courage to ask out his longtime crush Kelsey, the first obstacle Mike has to tackle is getting his hands on a car to pick her up. But after being conned into buying a ‘65 Chrysler that has seen better days, Mike finds himself the accidental target of cops, criminals, and a variety of former owners of the janky Chrysler, all trying to get their hands on the car—or rather, what’s hidden inside the car. While desperately trying to make it to Kelsey’s house, Mike will get chased, shot at, kidnapped, and punched in the face. But he will stop at nothing to make it to his date on time. A romantic comedy mystery thriller, FIRST DATE as an entertaining adventure that gives viewers a little bit of everything. — G.S.
