YOUTH V GOV follows the journey of 21 audacious young people suing the U.S. Government for its continued lack of action in response to the existential threat of climate change. Since 2015 the plaintiffs—now ages 13-24—have argued in an unprecedented lawsuit that the U.S. Government ignored scientific warnings and knowingly made decisions for six decades that created the current climate crisis, which threatened their constitutional rights to life, liberty, personal safety, and property. This informative and timely documentary introduces a group of emerging leaders fighting for their future while finding their voices and collective power. Fed up with being excluded, they make compelling arguments to be included in policy decisions that directly impact their future. Despite the numerous obstacles and setbacks, the young advocates hold steadfast in their mission, determined to not only make history. but also to lead environmental reform, ensure a sustainable future, and possibly spark a worldwide youth-led revolution. – R.R.
