Film Overview

The creative process of America's most acclaimed new composer is the focus of this extraordinary film, shot during the writing, composing and rehearsing of “Akhnaten,” Philip Glass' most recent opera. Being staged in Germany and in Texas, the opera takes on two startlingly different forms, while the music and lyrics remain the same. The film offers a portrait of the composer and his musical roots, in addition to the “behind the scenes” look at the presentation of his work on two continents. The composer narrates the film.
