Film Overview
The award-winning A SHORT FILM ABOUT KILLING is a disturbing work which unflinchingly presents the details of two killings. First, a youth murders a taxi driver for no apparent reason. He is surprised to find how difficult it is to drain the life from another man, and the audience is not spared a single detail. When the boy is executed by the authorities, Kieslowski again does not flinch from a single detail of the preparation, execution or aftermath. Shot in drained colors with a sickly yellow filter in an already unattractive urban landscape, this is an outstanding film, as well as an amazingly outspoken criticism of the process of law.
