A SHORT FILM ABOUT LOVE

Tomik, aged 19, is a shy, well-mannered youth who lives with his mother in a large apartment complex. He spends his evenings alone in his bedroom, scanning windows with his high-powered telescope. Eventually he spots Magda, a beautiful and sexually aggressive woman in her mid-thirties. Fueled by his nightly observations, Tomik's growing passion leads him to invent reasons to approach Magda without revealing his feelings. But as he becomes more involved in Magda's life, the “game” takes on an ominous tone. Kieslowski masterfully mixes a tender sense of yearning with a disturbing sense of male intrusion in this discomforting story of youthful obsession.
