A Zed and Two Noughts

Twin brothers Oswald and Oliver Deuce have just lost their wives in a freak auto wreck caused by a low-flying pregnant swan. In an attempt to come to terms with their grief, they embark on a unique and elaborate study of the process of decay. Festival-goers will recall Greenway's last film, THE DRAUGHTSMAN'S CONTRACT, with its rich, austere and formal beauty. ZED is equally visual, with great symmetry and a nod to Vermeer. But in all other respects it's a dazzling, and often perversely shocking, original.
