There is no greater joy than to see the world through a child’s eyes. But it is even more enchanting to see it through the eyes of ALPHÉE OF THE STARS, a five-year-old sparkle of light. At birth she was diagnosed with Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome, a rare genetic disorder affecting the body’s growth and development. Determined to give her an environment where she can freely explore and learn at her own pace, the family decides to take a year away from their busy city lives, traveling to a remote village in Switzerland. Complete with “The Sound of Music” hills and mountains, castles, and church steeples, we follow Alphée as she discovers nature all around her—the brush of petals against her face, an imaginary friend who lives in the trees, the crunch of the Alps snow beneath her feet. It is impossible not to fall in love with her infectious giggling and curious spirit.
