Film Overview

KIM, a trad-wife, tries desperately to please her boy, Jimmy, with his favorite food, grilled cheese with American cheese, but the homemade American cheese she used isn’t quite to Jimmy’s liking.
After this failure, Kim tracks down the last American cheese packet from the grocery store at BETTY’S – another trad-wife, heavily pregnant, who seems to have her life extremely together. Betty is about to make a grilled cheese with American cheese for her “boy”, Teddy. Kim and Betty talk about how lucky they are to have “such good boys”.
Kim attempts to steal the cheese from Betty but is caught. Humiliated, Kim breaks down about what’s going on at home – she’s under so much pressure having to take care of her boy and she’s cracking under the pressure of trad-wife perfection. Kim doesn’t know how much more she can take! Betty seems to understand and shares a childhood anecdote that quickly proves horrifying. The moral is: women can always take more. The women get into a physical brawl over the cheese which ends in Kim tripping, falling, and smacking her head on the pavement.
After Kim returns home, sans American cheese, we learn that she and Betty, and their relationships with their “boys”, are not what we thought.
