Film Overview

The lurid world of sado-masochism is explored in this graphic, controversial adaptation of a Tennessee Williams short story. Antoine, a repressed accountant whose first assignment takes him to a massage parlor, discovers the joys of a good rubdown. He then finds the pleasures of pain as he develops a dangerous interest in the increasingly rough massages which Dominique, his black masseur, administers. This exciting double life which overwhelms Antoine turns to tragedy when he takes his obsession to the limit. BLACK AND WHITE and its devastating closing sequence elicited the strongest reaction to any film at the World Film Festival.
