Film Overview

Original Title: Le Pays Bleu
English Title: BLUE COUNTRY

A joyful comedy by the director of “Cousin, Cousine” (1975) about country people who yearn for life in the big city – and the city people who head for the country believing they've found a new Eden. Popular French film star Brigitte Fossey plays the capricious city girl who falls in love with charming country boy Jacques Serres. Fossey began her career as a child star, memorably as the young heroine of the classic “Forbidden Games” (1951). In her adult career she has made films with France's top directors including Francois Truffaut's “The Man Who Loved Women” (1977). “One of the most joyous, optimistic films in years.” -William Wolff, CUE “A breath of spring.” – Judith Crist, N.Y.
