Film Overview

Craig, a young man working for a moving company, discovers Ernest, a former scientist now living as a brain in a jar, hidden away in a storage unit. Bitter about his fate and convinced the world has forgotten him, Ernest asks to be destroyed. Instead, Craig takes Ernest on a trip to attempt to prove life can still be enjoyable in his present state (including park activities, games, relaxation, and trying food and beverages).

When their activities fail to sway Ernest’s desire for an end, Craig introduces him to his friends. As they observe the group’s own bickering among each other, Ernest’s negativity and self-absorption sparks a confrontation. The have a falling out after Craig’s honesty forces Ernest to confront his detachment from the world around him. Months later, Craig unexpectedly reunites with the Brain, who has begun to participate in life, however absurd it may be.
