About This Film
Film Overview
At 4:15 pm each day, a pot of daisies mysteriously arrives on Hye-Young's door step. While drawing sketches in the streets of Amsterdam, Hye-Young happens to meet a fellow Korean whom she believes to be her longtime admirer. Immediately smitten, they begin a romance with Hye-Young never suspecting her beau is an Interpol agent. Watching from a single window, the man who has long been in love with Hye-Young is anguished as her new romance progresses. A professional assassin, he has purposefully distanced himself from Hye-Young in order to protect her, but now he becomes increasingly frustrated. Two men, on very different sides of the law, begin a physical and mental battle for the heart of the unsuspecting Hye-Young. Acclaimed director Andrew Lau manages a film that is both ultra-romantic and packed with tension. With well-executed action sequences and skillful shots of Amsterdam, DAISY is a classic romantic tragedy with a modern twist. (In Korean with English subtitles) – J.B.H.
