Film Overview

Beth’s been having terrifying dreams that feel awfully realistic. Something is trying to kill her. She fights to wake up but is unable to move. Doctors say it’s sleep paralysis, though she’s convinced it’s something more sinister. When tragedy befalls Beth, the skeptics around her are forced to take her concerns seriously. Leading the charge is her twin sister Kate, who now finds herself dealing with identical nightmares. The mysterious creature chasing her is relentless in its mission for destruction. As it turns out, Kate is not the only one the creature is after. As more suffering occurs, Kate must team up with her sister’s mess of a boyfriend (whose dreams are also haunted) to find a way to stop whatever it is from wreaking havoc on their loved ones. They seek out a number of unconventional methods, desperately doing whatever it takes to prevent another tragedy. Written by the creator of “Final Destination,” DEAD AWAKE is full of jump scares. Unlike the characters in this terrifying horror film, at least you’ll be able to move when the fear hits. —E.F.
